Faith Lutheran Senior Program establishes Birthday Club

Program Coordinators Marlene Batterberry and Stacy Kalvoda have added a Birthday Club to the list of activities provided at Faith Lutheran Church during the West Fargo Senior Program noon meal. On the third Tuesday of a participant's birth month the participant will receive a personalized birthday card and be recognized by the group. Everyone attending will receive a cupcake and be served coffee following the meal.

Batterberry said, "It is exciting to be part of the Senior Program. A community based program for seniors was long over due. Everyone enjoys the opportunity to get out and visit with others." Batterberry indicated she is thrilled to see the socializing that occurs during and following the meals.

Batterberry and Kalvoda continue to seek out entertainment and educational opportunities to add to the program. West Fargo Librarian Sandra Hannahs is also involved with program planning. Hannahs indicated the West Fargo Library remains committed as a partner to the Senior Program by providing entertainment and educational events.

The West Fargo Senior Program invites all people sixty years of age or older to participate. The program is meant to bring people together, spark conversations between the participants and provide entertainment and education opportunities.

A noon meal is provided Monday through Friday for the donation cost of $3.50. Meal service begins at noon at Faith Lutheran Church, 127 2nd Ave E, West Fargo. Participants are required to reserve a meal by calling 293-1440 at least 24 hours before they plan to attend.
