The Fall Home Show hosted by Home Builders Association of Fargo-Moorhead will be Sept. 25-26, at the Fargo Civic Center. Hours are 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday, and noon to 5 p.m. Sunday. The event will showcase home improvement companies and featured speaker Steven Katkowsky will convey to consumers how to create the illusion of more space and add up to three times the storage area in existing kitchens and bathrooms. Accent Kitchen & Bath is the platinum sponsor of the 2010 Fall Home Show and Budget Blinds of Fargo is the gold sponsor.
Katkowsky will present two seminars at the Fall Home Show that cover increasing storage space in small areas without major renovations: "Going In Style" focuses on the average 5' x 8' bathroom, and "The 'Reincarnitchen' of your Small Kitchen" covers ways to maximize space in your kitchen, small or large.
"Nearly every house in the United States has a standard 5' x 8' bathroom," Katkowsky says, "I will show you how, without moving any walls, you can increase useable wall space by 40 percent and get 15 percent more counter space, plus more. It's the same bathroom, but when you're done, it almost seems like walking into someone's living room."
The bathroom seminar will also cover creating a dream bathroom for baby boomers and the kitchen seminar will include design tips and affordable green ideas.
A regular on ABC-TV and Live Well HD Network, Katkowsky also has been heard on many radio shows and appeared in newspapers and magazines over the years. For over 30 years, he has owned Steven's Incredible Kitchen Machine, designing and remodeling homes in the San Francisco Bay area of California.
Local experts will also offer seminars on home improvement topics like renovating your kitchen and bath.
Now in its 21st year, the Fall Home Show will display 30,000 square feet of exhibits under one roof. See booths featuring contractors, flooring, siding, spas, windows, water purification, decks, heating/air conditioning, interior decorating and design, kitchen and bath design, cabinetry, garage doors and more.
Admission is $3. All parking is free and convenient. Children younger than age 14 will be admitted free when accompanied by an adult. Look for more seminar details and a coupon for $1 off admission at www.hbafm.com. Call 701- 232-5846 for more information.
