Family Music Festival celebration at Bonanzaville

Celebrate the Fourth of July at Bonanzaville as the historic pioneer village hosts its first ever Family Music Festival featuring bluegrass and old-time gospel music, along with a variety of other family-oriented events from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. both Saturday and Sunday.

Grammy and Telly Award winning performers Pat Surface and the Boundary Water Boys will be featured, along with several other prominent performing groups including: the Two by Four Family Band, the Ogg Creek Stringband, the Blue Drifters, Johnny Butten & Newgrass Underground - the world's fastest banjo picker, and Northern Posse.

Saturday events will feature: a Blue Grass Jam, Bandstand Concerts, Antique Parade, Ice Cream Social, Root Beer Floats, Kids Musical Theatre and a Straw Treasure Hunt.

Sunday activity will include: a Blue Grass Church Service, Kiddie Parade, Patriotic Costume Contest, Patriot Race, Bandstand Concerts, Kiddie Pedal Tractor Pull, Watermelon Seed Spitting Contest, Potato Sack Race, Pie Eating Contest, Picnic Basket Auction, 3 Legged Sandbag Race, Straw Treasure Hunt, with a fireworks display concluding the action.

Admission is $20 per person each day, with a weekend pass, $30 per person. An annual family membership is $50. Children 12 and under are free.
