Fargo roads filling in with snow, poor weather conditions could lead to road closures

FARGO - Due to high wind speeds and blowing snow, east-west roadways in Fargo are becoming increasingly snow packed, according to a news release issued by the city.

"As a result, it is becoming difficult for the Fargo Street Department to maintain full lane widths on many east-bound roads," the release, issued at 11:59 a.m., said. "All east-west roadways are open at this time, but some lanes may be blocked."

Snow pack is mainly affecting the far right east-bound lanes of open-area roadways such as:

- 19th Avenue North between 18th Street and Interstate 29

- 32nd Avenue South between 45th Street and Veteran's Blvd.

- 52nd Avenue South between I-29 and 45th Street.

The city said all roads are currently open for travel, but deteriorating conditions could worsen travel, making it unsafe for crews to maintain roadways. Road closures will be issued under that scenario.

Drivers are asked to be cautious and use safe winter driving practices while driving on snow packed streets.
