FCCLA students compete at District Star events

Several students from Sheyenne Ninth Grade Center competed in FCCLA STAR Events in Finley, N.D., on Feb. 4. Family, Career, and Community Leaders of America is a co-curricular organization that students who are enrolled in Family & Consumer Sciences may participate in.

Alexis Johnson and Myra Gianakos received a silver star in Applied Technology where they created a slide show on "Infant Care." Madison Vos and Megan Olson received a silver star in Life Event Planning where they planned a "Sweet Sixteen Party." These girls will advance to the state competition in Bismarck in April.

Stephanie Hoover and Paige Pederson received a silver star in National Programs in Action: Community Service. They worked on a campaign to stop animal abuse in North Dakota.

Also attending was Kyla Pederson who judged events in other categories and Mary Anderson (advisor).
