Ryan McLeod was 17 years old. A West Fargo school district official said McLeod suffered from ongoing health issues.

A prayer service is scheduled for 6 p.m. Thursday at West Funeral Home Chapel in West Fargo. A memorial service is set for 10:30 p.m. Friday at Lutheran Church of the Cross in West Fargo.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be sent to Ronald McDonald House Charities and Shriners Hospital for Children in Minneapolis.

McLeod is the fifth high schooler here to pass away in recent weeks. Earlier this month, junior Makenzie Walken, 17, passed away. Her cause of death has not been released.

In early December, three students passed away within a matter of days. Sophomore Tessa Miller died Dec. 5. The cause of her death was not released.

On Dec. 7, senior Levi Schulz and junior Ian Alves died.

Schulz died of injuries he suffered after being struck by a vehicle on Sheyenne Street just south of Interstate 94.

Alves died after an 18-month battle with two aggressive forms of cancer.
