Five long-time teachers to be honored tonight at open house

West Fargo High School is hosting an open house for five long-time teachers who will be retiring at the end of the school year.

The open house will be held today (Wednesday, May 26) at 3:45 p.m. in the West Fargo High School library.

With nearly 150 years of combined service, the retirees are: Jerome Christiansen, science teacher, 22 years; Claudia Engelstad, math teacher, 32 years at middle and high school; Jerry Heinz, CTE (Career and Technical education), 33 years; Marti Simmons, language arts teacher, 25 years at middle and high schools; and Assistant Principal Karen Olson, 31 years in district in various capacities.

The event in open to the public, and refreshments will be served.
