FM Builders Exchange contributes to Eastwood program
Eastwood Elementary School in West Fargo has received a generous donation of $1,000 from Fargo Moorhead Builders Exchange. This donation will go toward their take home reading program called "PAKRAT" which stands for People and Kids Reading A lot Together.
Eastwood School is a diverse community comprised of more than 540 students, and over 75 staff. The school's student population includes 52% on free and reduced lunch and over 27 different languages with English Language Learners making up about 20% of Eastwood's population.
The donation will help support all of the children's reading growth over time, particularly those children who are below grade level and children who have no books at home or no home library to choose books to read freely from. Books for the PAKRAT program can cost upwards of $6 each, consequently, the contributions are valued.
Eastwood staff said the school is fortunate to have such caring supporters as the Fargo Moorhead Builders Exchange. Anyone wishing to donate to the PAKRAT program can do so by sending contributions to Eastwood Elementary, 500 10th Ave E., West Fargo, N.D. 58048-3099
David Idso, Fargo Moorhead Builders Exchange board member, makes a donation to Eastwood Principal Paula Henry that will benefit the school's reading program.
