FM Symphony grant supports young people's concerts
The Fargo-Moorhead Symphony Orchestra has been awarded $5,000 from the Fargo-Moorhead Area Foundation, through its annual Community Grant Round. The award will support the 2011 Young People's Concerts. Each year, every fourth grade student in the Fargo, Moorhead and West Fargo public schools, plus elementary students from schools throughout the region are bussed to the concert hall to hear the symphony orchestra play music which is geared toward introducing children to classical music and musical instruments.
The Fargo-Moorhead Area Foundation is a community foundation established in 1960 to support the charitable and philanthropic needs of Cass and Clay counties. The Fargo-Moorhead Area Foundation is the oldest and largest community foundation in North Dakota, and has granted more than $17 million to charitable groups since 2000.
