Former Packers standout Gibson transfers to Jamestown for football

Former West Fargo football standout Rob Gibson is transferring to Jamestown College.

"Rob has multifaceted skills as an athlete as well as great leadership skills," said Bud Etzold, Jimmies head football coach. "During his senior year in high school, he was regarded as one of the top high school athletes in North Dakota. We think he'll be an exciting addition to our team."

During his high school career at West Fargo, Gibson earned back-to-back All-EDC honors in 2005-06 and 06-07 and was named to the All-State first team his senior year.

The six-foot, 175-pound Gibson is in his sophomore year and plans to major in elementary education. He will play defensive back and return specialist for the Jimmies. Gibson previously played for the University of Mary and also redshirted at the University of Minnesota-Duluth.

He is the son of Packers football coach Jay Gibson and Anna Frissell.
