Four WF-based Con-way Freight driver place first at truck championship

Four WF-based Con-way Freight driver place first at truck championship

Four drivers from Con-way Freight took first place in four of nine divisions, as well as the team trophy, at the 2010 North Dakota Truck Driving Championship held in Fargo, on May 22. The drivers - Steve Johnson, Brad Morrow, Tim Schneider and Joe Schroeder - are based out of Con-way Freight's West Fargo service center.

Steve Johnson, Lake Park, Minn., won first-place honors in the 4-Axle division. This was his seventh year taking part in the competition and his fourth time finishing in first place. Johnson has worked for Con-way Freight since 2001, and has been a professional driver for 20 years.

Fargo resident Brad Morrow placed first in the Twins division. This was his sixth year taking part in the competition, and his fifth time nabbing the top spot. Morrow also was awarded the Professional Excellence Award at three of his previous trips to Nationals. Morrow began his career as a professional driver with Con-way Freight in 1997.

Tim Schneider, Casselton, N.D., took home first place in the 3-Axle division. He previously has competed five times, and was named Rookie of the Year in 2005. This was his third first-place finish at the state level. Schneider began working for Con-way Freight this year, and has been a professional driver for 20 years.

Moorhead, Minn., resident Joe Schroeder won first place in the 4-Axle division. This was his second win and his seventh year taking part in the competition. Schroeder has worked for Con-way Freight since 2009, and has been a professional driver for 13 years.

All four drivers will move on to compete at the National Truck Driving Championships in Columbus, Ohio, this August.
