Fredricks presented with sweepstakes award
Martin Fredricks, owner of Fredricks Communications, West Fargo, has been named the Individual Sweepstakes winner in the 2008 North Dakota Professional Communicators (NDPC) contest. This is the third straight year Fredricks has earned top Sweepstakes honors, and the fourth time in his career.
The Sweepstakes award is based on a point system for the number of individual category awards and the number of entries in each category. Fredricks earned 11 first place awards, four second place, four third place and four honorable mentions. The awards recognize a wide range of advertising and marketing materials that Fredricks Communications completed for clients in 2007, including newspaper and trade publication print advertisements, annual reports, brochures, media kits and releases, newsletters, posters and Web content.
The awards recognize work completed for the following clients: Clay County Public Health, Moorhead, Minn.; Dawson Insurance, Fargo; DMI Industries, West Fargo; Otter Tail Corporation, Fargo and Fergus Falls, Minn.; and Wanzek Construction, Fargo. Jubae Design, Fargo, was the lead agency on materials created for DMI Industries and Wanzek Construction.
The annual contest recognizes excellence in communications among NDPC members. Awards were announced at the NDPC annual conference on April 25, in Grand Forks. First place entries are automatically entered in the National Federation of Press Women (NFPW) competition. NFPC is a state affiliate of NFPW, a professional organization of men and women from around the country employed in communications fields. National awards will be announced during the organization's annual conference Sept. 11-13, 2008, in Idaho Falls, Idaho.
In addition to honors from the NDPC and NFPW, Fredricks' work has earned national Telly Awards, ADDY Awards from the Advertising Federation of Fargo-Moorhead and District 8 of the American Advertising Federation, the Council for the Advancement and Support of Education, and a national committee of communicators affiliated with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. His company, Fredricks Communications, helps businesses and organizations effectively brand, advertise and market themselves, their products, services and causes by harnessing the power of words and combining them with customer insights and creative ideas.
