FSC Menace take first, Sheyenne United second at Woodbury Classic

The Fargo Soccer Club’s West Fargo athletes traveled to Woodbury, Minn., on May 9 for the Woodbury Summer Classic soccer tournament, and came home with some hardware.

The FSC U13 Menace finished first in their age group, allowing just three goals in four games games.

They beat the Woodbury Rampage 5-0, the Lakeville Thunder 2-0, the Rochester Avengers 4-1 and the Burnsville Fire Hot Tamales 3-2 in the championship match.

The FSC Sheyenne United placed second losing in a shootout after beating CC United 6-1, Rochester Venom 5-2, and the Lakeville Strikers 6-1. Their loss came to the West Des Moines, Iowa, Fire in a shootout after the overtime.

Both teams consist primarily of West Fargo athletes and are coached by Kelvin Daniels.
