Gapp places second in poster contest
Ellie Gapp, a fifth grader from South Elementary School in West Fargo, took second place in her division during the 44th Annual Keep North Dakota Clean poster contest, the longest running poster contest in the state.
More than 10,000 students from across the state in first through eighth grade participated in this year`s contest. The contest is conducted in hopes of teaching students about keeping their environment clean.
Gapp's picture was drawn to depict her grade-level theme of "Trees are Beautiful Inside and Out." First-, second- and third-place winners of each grade received a medal and a cash prize at the awards banquet, held April 23 at the Memorial Hall in Washburn, N.D.
Last year as a fourth grader, Gapp placed third in her division.
Her parents are Chris and Jackie Gapp.
