Gary Duane Leach lost his battle to cancer at home on Saturday, November 29, 2008. A memorial service was held on December 3, 2008 at the Boulger Funeral Home Chapel, Fargo. Burial was held at Hunter Cemetery, Hunter, N.D.
Gary was born in Lisbon, N.D. on July 1, 1944, son of Perry and Gertrude (Jorgenson) Leach. Gary graduated from Lisbon High School. After graduation, Gary worked in many steel manufacturing companies. Later he worked in cabinet and antique repair shops. His last 28 years were spent driving school bus for West Fargo schools, retiring in 2007. Gary enjoyed many hobbies. In his younger years he had a dog sled team and made a two-day trip from Fargo to Lisbon. Gary's other hobbies included fishing, hunting and camping. Most of all, Gary enjoyed woodworking and going to craft shows to sell his creations.
Gary married Joyce Richtsmeier on December 22, 1972 in Fargo and resided there since that time. He is survived by his wife Joyce, three daughters Tiffany (Jason) Eblen, Trista and Trachelle, all of Fargo, three special grandsons Cody, Tristan and Trenton, three sisters, Marion (Jesse) Paulson of Fargo, Donna (Laurel) Gamache of Lisbon, N.D. and Eileen (Jack) Lillis of Detroit Lakes, Minn. and a special aunt Lorraine Seelig of Lisbon, N.D. and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Tammy, his parents and his nephew, Mark Paulson.
