The team started off firing, scoring three goals in the first period and three in the second.

"We came out pretty well," head coach Pat Johnson said. "We kind of took it easy in the third and stopped moving our feet, but it worked out."

The team was led by junior defenseman Tori Holland, who had five points - one goal and four assists in the game - and senior forward Hayley Walsh, who had three goals and two assists.

The Packers also had goals come from senior forward Rachael Monkman and junior forward Kelly Krahn.

The team now moves to 7-0-0 on the year a has 18 points.

Looking back at the start his team has had, Johnson is generally happy about their overall performance.

"We're working hard," Johnson said. "That's all I ask of them. We have had a few tough games, but it is nice to be on the winning side of those games, since we weren't always last season. There are a few of the little things we need to get better at so we don't give up the easy shots, but I can't complain."

The team's next game is at home against Mandan on Friday, Jan. 4. The puck drops at 7:30 p.m.
