Girls take third, boys fourth in Dickinson meet

The West Fargo Packers cross country team had another solid outing at the Becki Wells Invitational in Dickinson, N.D., on Saturday morning.

The girls' team took third out of 22 teams with a score of 103. The boys, on the other hand, finished fourth out of 15 teams with a score of 115.

The Packer girls were led by eighth-grader Jen Dufner, who had a time of 15:21.00. Sophomore Suzanne Dullum was next among the girls' team with a time of 16:11.00.

The boys were led by senior Darin Baltezore, who ran his 5k in 16:40.00. Senior Austin Albrecht was not far behind with a time of 17:05.00

"We have been working very hard in practice to prepare for EDC and State (tournaments), so our legs are a bit tired." head coach Joe Bailey said. "We look forward to a better race at the Shanley Metro Meet this Thursday."

The junior varsity teams found success as well, with the girls' team finishing second with a score of 65 and the boys' team finishing fifth with a score of 211.

The teams will head to Fargo Shanley tomorrow for a 4 p.m. meet.
