Golfers third in East-West Classic
The Packer boys golf team participated in the annual East-West Classic tournament in Jamestown on Friday and Saturday, finishing in third place out of 18 teams with a score of 660, just seven strokes behind first-place Grand Forks Red River.
Of the 92 golfers on the course, Packer senior Riley Johnson ended with the best score, shooting 153 on 36 holes.
The team also got top-20 finishes from senior Nathan Kapaun and junior Drew Conzemius. Kapaun’s 168 landed him in 17th place, while Conzemius’ 169 was good enough for 19th.
Rounding out the top four for the Packers was freshman Cole Johnson, who shot a 172 over 36 holes.
Freshman Hunter Moen finished with a score of 174, and junior Brendan Klub shot a 176.
The team travels to Grand Forks Country Club on Thursday for an EDC meet at 9 a.m.
