Grooters honored as Exchange Club student of the month

Ellie Grooters, a senior at West Fargo High School, has been named West Fargo Exchange Club Student of the Month for January. She is the daughter of Greg and Robin Grooters.

While a student at West Fargo High School, Ellie has maintained a 4.0 grade point average, active in several areas including: student council for four years, National Honor Society, and the Youth Leadership Program; and in the community as part of the Youth Medical Experience, Junior Bank Board, Renaissance Club, and Big Brother/Big Sister.

She has also excelled in athletics, involved in cross country for six years, two as captain; and track for six years, three of them as captain. She was also on the FM Acro Team for a number of years, and has been a state record holder and state champion in track for the past few years, with a number of state championships to her credit in hurdles and relay running. Because of her talents, she has been recognized as the MVP athlete for the track team each of the past three years.

Ellie plans to attend the University of Nebraska Lincoln, where she will pursue a major in pre-pharmacy and run track.
