The Packer boys and girls team each took 13th place, as the West Region dominated the State A Track Meet this season, placing five in the top seven on the boys side and six in the top seven on the girls team standings.

They (were) just loaded up this season out West, even more so than usual, Darrin McKinnon, who was Coach of the Year in the Eastern Dakota Conference on the boys side, said. They had a lot of deep, deep teams.

Bismarck High proved to be the deepest, dominating the boys competition and ediging Fargo South by just a half of a point on the girls side. South was third in the boys, behind Century. Minot was third in the girls team competition.

Rob Gibson earned a finalist spot in two events, taking eighth in the 110-hurdles and seventh in the 300. The only other place-winning efforts for West Fargo came from the 400-meter relay team.

On the girls side, senior Alison Kelly capped off her career with eighth place in the high jump.

The girls 800-meter relay placed fifth, while the 400 relay took eighth. Sophomore Sarah Denne also took eighth in the 200.
