Local gymnast Sienna Crouse won a national championship title on the uneven bars during the USAG Level 9 Western National Championships in San Diego on May 6-8.

Crouse, a two-time Western National Qualifier and eighth-grade student at Cheney Middle School in West Fargo, notched a score of 9.7 to capture the uneven bars title and help her to a 19th-place finish at 36.4 score in the all-around of the Junior D division of the competition. She also earned 13th place on the floor exercise with a score of 9.3.

Crouse's score of 9.7 on the bars was not only the highest in her age division, but also tied her for the best mark on the apparatus across all age divisions in both the Western National Championships and the Eastern National Championships held in Worcester, Mass., the same weekend.

The national title is a first for both Crouse and TNT Kid's Fitness & Gymnastics Academy.
