Handi-Wheels promotes annual dinner, silent auction
Handi-Wheels Transportation Services will host its eighth annual Pre-Holiday Spaghetti Dinner and Silent Auction on Saturday, Nov. 13, from 4 to 8 p.m., at the North Campus of Hope Lutheran Church, 2900 N. Broadway.
Handi-Wheels is an independent, non-profit service organization. Proceeds from the benefit help the organization provide accessible transportation service at affordable rates to people in the community who have disabilities and disadvantages.
The East Cass Chapter of Thrivent Financial for Lutherans is providing supplemental funds to help support this benefit. Additional, corporate and business sponsors are needed and encouraged to lend their support.
As a point of information, Handi-Wheels recently provided transportation, without cost, so that many of its customers who are wheelchair users could participate in the event which was organized to celebrate the construction of the new home for the Grommesh family in Moorhead through promotions made by the TV program, "Extreme Makeover".
Tickets for the dinner and silent auction are: $8 ($7 in advance) for adults, and $5 ($4 in advance) for children ages 12 and under. Tickets can be purchased at the door or in advance by calling the office at 232-3231.
Inquiries about the Spaghetti Dinner benefit can be directed to Allan at 231-6040 or Julie at 893-5404.
