"Representing the people of this newly formed District will be extremely important in the coming years," Hanson said. District 16 was created due to the growth in population in the Fargo/West Fargo area. It stretches from Main Ave down to 40th Avenue South. "I want to work with fellow North Dakotans across the aisle and be a sensible voice in our legislature for the good of all citizens, especially those in District 16."

He added that he is looking forward to hearing the concerns of people in southern West Fargo and Fargo near his home.

As commercial Realtor in Fargo whose work frequently takes him to the western part of the state, Hanson said he is concerned with making sure North Dakota's infrastructure remains strong while ensuring the growth North Dakota is currently seeing remains sustainable. "I want to make sure that North Dakota keeps being a great place to live during boom times and after."

Hanson was born and raised in Fargo and currently lives in West Fargo. He graduated from Fargo South High and Minnesota State University Moorhead.
