The Harwood Prairie Playhouse is observing their 28th season by staging its third world premiere in the past four years, "Marriage Roulette," by local playwright David Lassig who is also serving as director. Show dates are March 16, 17, 22-24, 29-31 at 7:30 p.m., and March 18, 25, 31 at 2 p.m., at Dawson Hall, Bonanzaville, 1351 W. Main Ave., West Fargo.
If you enjoyed the 2009 production of "Who Maid Who?" and the 2010 production of "Barely Heirs," then this year's show is also going to appeal to your humorous side, labeled as sweet, funny, and kind of romantic.
The show premise has Megan and Greg planning to get married in Las Vegas. The night before the wedding they have their bachelor and bachelorette parties at the same hotel. On the morning of the wedding, Greg and Megan wake up in adjoining hotel rooms with someone other than each other. They soon discover they are married to this other person. Will they figure out what happened the night before and sort everything out before their own wedding?
Cast members include: Megan - Phaidra Yunker, Brad - Taylor Schatz, Greg - Jeremy Ellsworth, Nora - Christina Johnson, Waiter - Michael Sunram, Sarah - Missy Teeters, and Mark - Mark Seeba.
A special opening night reception will take place after the show on Friday, March 16. Those attending are welcome to remain after the show and enjoy refreshments and meet the cast, crew, and playwright.
Senior citizen night is also scheduled for March 22 encouraging guests to arrive at 6:45 p.m. for a special dessert before the show begins, and also the opportunity to stay afterwards to meet and visit with cast. Everyone is welcome to attend this show; however, senior citizens 55 years and older will receive a $1 discount.
Totally new to the format this year will be the announcement after the performance on Thursday, March 29, of the 2013 production. Acquire a ticket for this show and be the first to hear about next year's show, while having the opportunity to win some fabulous prizes as well as enjoy refreshments and snacks in celebration of the announcement.
