Hasan takes first in Geographic Bee

Danyal Hasan, a 7th grader at the Cheney Middle School STEM Center in West Fargo, was the winner of the school-wide Geographic Bee on Tuesday Jan. 10 . He will now complete a qualifying test to see if he can advance to the state-wide level in April.

Other finalists who competed in the bee included sixth graders, Leo Smith and Gurtaran Johal, seventh graders, Dakota Galt, Calvin Riggs, and Jordan Johnson, and eighth graders, Jarrett Lardy, Gabe Anderson, Allison Inman, and Stephanie Fosness.

The bee is a National Geographic sponsored event.
