A special Chili Feed and Bake Sale Benefit is planned for Rob Hasse on Tuesday, May 22 from 5:30 to 9 p.m. at Triumph West Church, 3745 Sheyenne St., West Fargo.
Hasse is a well-known West Fargo chiropractor diagnosed with stage four metastic melanoma cancer in December of 2010. Since that time he has been undergoing treatments and is presently engaged in a treatment regimen involving trips every three months to Mayo Clinic in Rochester. In the meantime, he continues to see patients at West Fargo Chiropractic Clinic.
He and his wife, Deb, are longtime West Fargo residents. They have three grown daughters.
Much of the treatment is not covered by insurance, so proceeds from the fundraiser will be used to defer medical expenses and other needs the family might have.
The evening will feature chili, hot dogs and chips, and beverage for a freewill offering.
There will also be a silent auction with a variety of gifts donated by local businesses. Among the items will be: a child's peddle car from Luther Ford, a 5x8 accent rug from Carpet World, China from Royal Jewelers, women's necklaces from Eide Jewelry and Wimmer's Jewelry; and many, many gift certificates.
The event is open to the public and everyone is welcome to attend.
Those who are unable to attend the fundraiser but would still like to contribute can do so my mailing your donation to State Bank & Trust, PO Box 10877, Fargo, ND 58102 or stopping into any bank location, making note that the donation is for the Rob Hasse account. Contributions can also be made online to www.dakmed.org/lendhand, click donate.
DMF Lend a Hand will be providing up to $5,000 in matching funds. Other sponsors for the evening include: the Alex Stern Foundation, Thrivent Financial for Lutherans, Texas Roadhouse, SunMart, Nash Finch, and Dave's Tires.
