Gwen McCausland, a museum professional with over eight years of collections care experience, will conduct the workshop on how to care for photographs, documents and objects like clothing and silver.

"Many people ask me about how they should care for their family photographs or their mother's wedding dress," stated McCausland. "This workshop addresses those questions and teaches you low-cost but effective ways to preserve your antiques for future generations."

The first part of the workshop will be a presentation about preservation. The second half will be hands-on about digitally preserving documents and photographs by using a scanner. The first ten registrants are encouraged to bring one photograph or document to be scanned and burned onto a CD.

This workshop will be repeated Nov. 10, and Jan. 12, and Feb. 9. To register, call the West Fargo Public Library at 701-433-5460. The library is open Monday through Thursday 10 a.m. to 9 p.m., Friday 10 a.m. to 6 p. m., Saturday 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Sunday 1 to 5 p.m .
