Hillig named Exchange Club Student of the Month
Thane Hillig, a senior at West Fargo High School, has been named the West Fargo Exchange Club Student of the Month for December. He is the son of Craig and Tanya Hillig, West Fargo.
As a student at West Fargo High School, Thane has been active in a number of areas. He is a member of the Student Council, the National Honor Society and has volunteered for the Fill the Dome event. He has served as JROTC Battalion Commander, representing the Packer Battalion; won third place in the Voice of Democracy Contest; earned a VFW Scholastic Excellent Medal for the 2008-2009 school year; participated in the West Fest Parade and the Parade of Lights; and volunteered to feed the homeless at the United Way in Moorhead. Most recently, Thane received a Presidential Nomination to the Air Force Academy.
Thane has maintained a 4.1 grade point average at West Fargo High. His future plans include attending the Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, majoring in Aeronautical Engineering and becoming an officer in the Air Force for five years right out of college. Thane may then become a career officer in the Air Force.
