The holiday Business After Hours promoted by the West Fargo Area Chamber of Commerce last Thursday was their biggest event of this type ever, according to Chamber Executive Director Chris Barton.

"A total of 164 people, including exhibitors and guests, attended and we're pretty excited about that," Barton said. "We had a lot of our new members there," a reference to the membership that has grown steadily from the 400 mark at the groups annual meeting in May to its present status of 425, and expectations of continued growth.

Chamber Membership Sales Coordinator Teresa Blotsky has been instrumental in this continued climb, actively recruiting new members. "The really unique aspect at this Business after Hours was all the new members present and the new networking opportunities provided," Barton added.

The event was held at the Speedway Event Center, under the new ownership of Bruce and Peggy Kringlie and their daughter and son, Kari Wehri and Ryan Kringlie. Peggy and Kari are actively involved in the restaurant as co-managers, and Ryan's wife, Stephanie, serves as manager of the Events Center. "The new owners of the Speedway Event Center did a fabulous job," Barton said. "Very special kudos to them. They went above and beyond. We heard a lot of great comments about the wonderful food and the holiday décor."

Plans for the next Business After Hours are already in the works with the date set for March 6, again at the Speedway Event Center.

On a related note, the next 6th Degree of Networking session will take place at the West Fargo Area Chamber of Commerce from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 20. Admission fee is $15, which includes lunch.

Chamber officials are also busy helping everyone gear up for the holidays by offering Chamber Bucks to any business or individual looking for that easy, perfect gift for the hard to buy for person. The Bucks can be redeemed at well over 100 local locations, so everyone is sure to find something they are looking for at one of the participating businesses.

The Chamber office is located at 109 3rd St. E. in the Lodoen Community Center. Inquiries can be made by calling 282-4444.
