HomeGoods and Marshalls open Thursday

The first HomeGoods and Marshalls stores in the metro area are scheduled to open in West Fargo on Thursday.

HomeGoods is setting up in the Westgate Commons in the 1500 block of 13th Avenue East in space that was once home to an Old Navy store.

Marshalls is going into a space next door that was home to a Big Lots store and, before that, a Linens ‘n Things.

HomeGoods and Marshalls are both operated by Massachusetts-based TJX Companies, the parent company of T.J. Maxx.

A third new store, rue21, opened in late March in the Westgate Commons in a space it will share with HomeGoods. The corporate offices for rue21, a clothing store that aims for a youthful demographic, are in Pennsylvania. The West Fargo rue21 store has a special department for men called rueGuy.

Marshalls expected to hire about 70 people. HomeGoods is looking to hire about 35 people.
