Horace will kick off its annual Horace Bean Days celebration on Friday, August 21, with a trap and pistol shoot at Adventure Shooting Sports at 5 p.m., and the Horace Fire Department's Night Out. The three-day community-wide celebration is scheduled Friday, August 21, through Sunday, August 23, with fun and activities for all ages.
Saturday's lineup of activities begins with the Horace Lions Club pancake breakfast in the Horace Fire Hall from 7 to 10 a.m.; and a Bean Cook Off in the Fire Hall at 8 a.m. The Kiddie Parade begins at 9:30 a.m., with the Grand Parade at 10 a.m. Kid's games will be set up on Main Street following the parade, next to Games Galore and concession stands.
Other attractions during the day on Saturday will include the Show and Shine Classic Car Show from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.; dinner at the Horace Senior Center at 11:30 a.m.; the annual Horace Mud Run at Adventure Shooting Sports beginning at noon; Disk Golf Tournament at 2 p.m. at Independence Park; and Bingo at the Horace Senior Center from 2 to 4 p.m.
A Hidden $100 Bean Token Hunt will begin at 11 a.m. Clues will be available at the Horace Fire Hall. There will also be a craft and flea market show throughout the day. Alpine Carriages will be providing horse drawn wagon rides throughout the day, beginning at 10:30 a.m.
Saturday evening activities include a tug of war at the volleyball pit at 7 p.m.; Bingo in the Horace Senior Center at 7 p.m.; and the Horace Street Dance with music provided by Boom Town, from 8:30 p.m. to 12:30 a.m. There will be a $5 cover charge for the dance.
