For 73 years, one week has been set aside to recognize the role that newspapers play in the lives of their communities and their readers.

That designation is National Newspaper Week and this year it is being observed all next week — Oct. 6-12 – working off the theme “Your community, your newspaper, your life.”

The observance provides the opportunity to let the public know that newspapers are still viable in the everyday scheme of things, and even stronger with the correlating digital applications.

The West Fargo Pioneer has been around since 1967. Throughout the years, our commitment has remained the same, relying on our ‘local’ chain of readers to keep our ‘local’ news flow running at a steady pace by sharing suggestions, ideas, and story leads that turn out to be some of the best on page reading ever.

We value our readership, and continue to welcome any type of input, not just during national newspaper week, but any time you feel you have an opinion to express, a thought to be shared, or a story to be uncovered.
