The Outdoor Classic Hunting and Fishing Expo will be held at Sandhills Archery Park in West Fargo on Friday and Saturday, June 6-7. The two day event will include seminars on hunting, fishing, archery, black powder, kayaking, camping, and dog training, and feature exhibits and demonstrations throughout the 26-acre park grounds.
Highlighting the expo will be a 3-D Archery Shoot on both days, a Fishing Derby on Saturday, from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m., and novelty archery shoots with steel deer, wolf and bison targets. All participants entering the 3-D Archery Shoot will have a chance to win a $200 drawing. $100 gift cards to Sportsman's Warehouse will be awarded for the largest bass, sunfish, and crappie caught during Saturday's Fishing Derby.
Booths will be set up throughout the park with over 25 exhibitors and ATV dealers on hand to answer questions. Weather permitting, there is a powered parachute demo scheduled at 1 p.m. on Saturday.
According to Jerry Langness, promoter for Sandhills Archery Club, this is the first ever outdoor expo held in West Fargo. The expo will provide entertainment for the whole family. Located at 3001 W. Sandhills Ave., just north of Main Avenue, in West Fargo, the archery park includes ample free parking, picnic shelters and a playground area for the kids. The North Dakota Bowhunters Association will also have a booth where kids can test their archery skills. Concessions will be available throughout the event.
Gate admission for the event is $5 for adults, with children 12 and under free. Discount tickets are available at all area Stop-N-Go stores, with a free pass to the 3-D Shoot on Friday, and $4 off gate admission, compliments of Stop-N-Go.
