Insight from WFPD: Officers honored for work with traffic safety

Eleven officers of the West Fargo Police Department received commemorative coins and a certificate in recognition for their work in traffic safety. The officers earned the coins by participating in overtime blitz periods as part of the West Fargo Police Department Seat Belt and DUI Enforcement Units. The coins and certificates were provided through the North Dakota Department of Transportation Traffic Safety Division.

The officers issued 772 speed citations, 87 seat belt citations, 15 child restraint citations, made 114 driving under the influence arrests, and 127 driving under suspension arrests for the period of Oct. 1, 2008, to Sept. 30, 2009.

Officers involved with the program were: Trent Stanton, Jason Anderson, Jerry Boyer, Shane Orn, Randy Burkhartsmeier, Pat Hanson, Tim Runcorn, Jason Balvik, Skyler Dutton, and Don Loberg.
