James T. Bober, 73, West Fargo, ND died Wednesday, March 12, 2014 at his home under the care of Hospice of the RRV.
James Theodore Bober was born September 28, 1940 in Minot ND, only child to Rev. Henry A. and Thelma (Thorp) Bober. His father was a church planter, so Jim lived in a variety of communities during his childhood years including Minnesota, North and South Dakota and Wisconsin. He graduated from West Fargo High School in 1958 and married Janice Marie Larson on October 22, 1960. They made their home in West Fargo.
In his early career, he worked with his father-in-laws company Larson Farm Supply where he served in many capacities. Jim spent the majority of his career as a finish carpenter for Hanson Bros. Construction in Fargo, ND. One of his great passions was southern gospel music, and he was a member of several gospel quartets including The Calvary Four, The Sentinels and Destiny quartet. He was also a sound engineer for many years at Calvary Baptist Church.
After retiring, Jim liked to attend auctions, have coffee with friends at West Acres, and enjoyed spending time at the lake.
He is preceded in death by his parents and survived by his wife Janice, son Jeff (Melody) of Detroit Lakes; daughter Julie Bomstad and grandsons Jacob and Joshua of West Fargo, granddaughter, Sarah (Jason) Bowe and great granddaughters Evelyn and Vivian Bowe of Blaine, MN
Services were previously held.
Interment: Sunset Memorial Gardens, Fargo.
