Jason Edward Grawe was born Aug. 19, 1971, to Ardell and Judy Grawe in Breckenridge, Minn. He grew up in Breckenridge, and graduated from high school as an accomplished football player and hockey team captain for the "Cowboys. During his schooling he met his best friend, Wade Harty, and his family showed him that other people in his life could be just as close as family. Jason took fatherhood seriously and he put everything he had into raising his boys Wade and Gabriel Grawe. While he waited for his future wife he always volunteered at the churches and was involved in starting a church in West Fargo, for African refugees. On Feb. 21, 2009, he married Michelle Lorraine Antoine. In March 2009, he moved his new family to Lakota, N.D. to begin working in the Maintenance Department at the Good Samaritan Society Nursing Home where his wife Michelle was the new administrator. Jason loved to hunt and fish; was an avid archer attending the Three Rivers Archery Tournament for over 20 years; and had a passion for music, with guitar playing something that came naturally to him.
Jason went home to be the Lord at the age of 39 on June 20, 2011.
His sister Brenda didn't know it the day she was allowed to name him that he would fulfill the meaning of his name to be used by God as a "Healer" to those that knew him. His mom and dad didn't know it at the time but they were raising him with a combination of experiences growing up that prepared him for life's journey ahead. Jason's stepmother Barb helped raise him.
Services for Jason were held at Heartland Community Church, 1721 Main Ave. E., West Fargo, on Saturday June 25. Visitation was held at 2 p.m., with the funeral and a reception following.
Pallbearers were his brothers Jim Grawe and Jeff Grawe, as well as his "PALS," Wade Harty, James Harty, Jodi Koenig and Adam Awender. Honorary pall bearers were his sons Wade Grawe and Gabriel Grawe. Memorials may be sent to Michelle Grawe at 209 E. Ave. E., Lakota, N.D. 58344.
