Jason D. MacPherson, 36, of Detroit Lakes, died Monday, April 13, 2009 at St. Mary's Innovis Health, Detroit Lakes, as the result of injuries sustained in an automobile accident.

Jason Douglas MacPherson was born the son of Phillip and Ilene (Reller) MacPherson on Sept. 26, 1972, in Minneapolis. He attended grade school at Holy Rosary and graduated from Detroit Lakes High School in 1991. It was shortly after Jason' s high school years that he became co-founder of J & K Shoreline Service. After high school he attended Bemidji State University, and he also attained a sales and marketing degree from Minnesota State Community and Technical College in Detroit Lakes.

Jason married Wendy Hagle on Aug. 10, 1996 at Trinity Lutheran Church, Detroit Lakes. It didn't take long before J&K Shoreline Service blossomed into J&K Marine, with other locations in the surrounding communities.

Jason continued to be an owner of J&K Marine until he sold his shares in 2005. He then founded Web Traffic Tonight, an online service for providing traffic to websites. He was also involved in Internet advertising for many businesses around the country. Jason was known for his knowledge of running a business and turning it into a success.

Jason was very active and enjoyed many outdoor activities, such as snowmobiling, riding his ATV, golfing, boating, skiing, camping and biking, to name a few. But the time he spent with son, Kyle was enjoyed most. Jason will be missed by many.

Jason is survived by his wife, Wendy; son, Kyle; parents, Phil and Ilene MacPherson of Detroit Lakes; sister, Shannon (Jamie) Woodward of Moorhead; father-in-law and mother-in-law, James and Lee Ann Hagle of Detroit Lakes; brother-in-law, Rob (Cindy) Hagle of Sioux Falls, S.D.; three sisters-in-law, Stacy (Chad) Satrom of Galesburg, N.D., Angie (Tom) Shoemaker of Detroit Lakes and Katie (Ryan) Carruth of Kandiyohi, Minn.; five nieces and five nephews as well as numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. His grandparents preceded him in death.

Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday, April 16 at West-Kjos Funeral Home, Detroit Lakes, followed by a 7 p.m. prayer service.

Funeral services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Friday, April 17 at First Lutheran Church, Detroit Lakes.
