Jenson to perform in recital

Valley City State University music student, Ali Jenson, Percussion, will perform in recital on Saturday, May 7, at 7:30 p.m., in Vangstad Auditorium. Admission is free and the performance will be followed by a reception.

Jenson is a senior music major from West Fargo. While at VCSU, Jenson has been active in campus organizations. She is currently the president of VCSU's Music Educators National Conference; is a member of the Percussive Arts Society; has served as an intern instructor for the VCSU Community School of the Arts; and plays drums in the campus group Sacrifice of Praise.  She currently performs with VCSU's Concert Band, VCSU's Percussion Ensemble, and the FM Ragtime Band.

Under the instruction of VCSU professor Chris Mahan, Jenson has prepared five pieces to be performed on marimba, vibraphone, and xylophone and accompanied on a variety of drums and mallet instruments.  Jenson will be assisted by Chris Mahan, Fargo; Katelin Wadeson, Fingal; and Andrew Clemenson, and Heath Marvel both of  Fargo. 

Jenson is the daughter of Doug and Connie Jenson of West Fargo.
