ND secretary of state candidate drops out after report on 2006 window-peeping incident

Jeraine "Jiggs" Anderson

Jerain "Jiggs" Anderson, 66, West Fargo, died on Wednesday, Feb. 17, 2010, in St. Mary's Hospital, Rochester, Minn.

Jerain was born in Detroit Lakes, Minn., on Nov. 24, 1943, to Leslie and Evelyn (Eide) Anderson. He grew up and attended school in Hitterdal, was confirmed at Salem Lutheran Church there and graduated from Hitterdal High School in 1961. He married Patricia Busby on July 29, 1967, in Salem Lutheran in Hitterdal. Jiggs owned and operated Jiggs' Café in Hitterdal from 1971 to 1988. He then owned and operated Jiggs' Homestyle Restaurant in West Fargo from 1988 until 2007. He also owned Jerain's Grocery Store in Hitterdal for a number of years.

Jiggs is survived by his wife, Patricia, West Fargo; son, Josh Anderson, Fargo; daughter, Jennifer (Chad) Weisgram, Fargo; sister, Virginia (Russell) Erickson, Sebeka, Minn.; two grandchildren, Spencer and Tyler; many brother-in-laws and sister-in-laws; his father-in-law, Loyal Busby; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Visitation was held Sunday, Feb. 21, 2010, from 2 to 4 p.m., with a prayer service at 4 p.m., in Wright Funeral Home, Hawley, Minn.

Funeral services were held Monday, Feb. 22, 2010, at 11 a.m., at Salem Lutheran Church, Hitterdal, Minn.

Interment was in Salem East Cemetery, Hitterdal.
