Journey in Faith hosts open house
Smiles were visible all around as Journey in Faith, a Ministry of Faith Lutheran Church, hosted an Open House for members of Faith Lutheran on Sunday, Feb. 14, utilizing Shooters Bar at the Urban Plains Center for a place of worship.
More than 70 members of Faith Lutheran spent their Valentine's Day afternoon at the new rental location previewing the future worship space for Journey Worship, a fourth and off-site worship service for Faith Lutheran. A short program offered the worship band, led by Todd Schuldt, a Concordia College junior, a chance to debut their talents. Pastor Judy Holmen welcomed guests and offered prayers. A blessing of the facility, congregation and its ministries was led by various members of the staff and team.
Pastor Holmen, a mission developer, called by Faith Lutheran in July 2007, will be the primary pastor at the new space. Pastor Peter Schmidt, senior pastor of Faith Lutheran and Journey in Faith, proclaimed the start of Journey Worship the fruition of an idea that was birthed many years ago. The Urban Plains Center temporary site will host Journey Worship until a facility is constructed on a ten acre parcel on 40th Ave E., west of the Sheyenne Ninth Grade Center. Journey Worship will be held on Sundays at 10 am and will be open to the public beginning March 14.
