Journey in Faith making presence known
Journey in Faith, A Ministry of Faith Lutheran Church, is the name of the second location of Faith Lutheran Church of West Fargo. Although Journey in Faith will not begin worship until later this year, the church has been making its presence known in the community little by little.
Last year, they grew pumpkins on the future church site located west of the Sheyenne 9th Grade Center on 40th Ave. E. The pumpkins were sold at the West Fargo Farmers Market, as well as a Fall Festival held for the entire community. This summer, Journey in Faith is at it again, growing pumpkins and other produce in a two acre garden.
Recently however, Journey in Faith hosted a Pie, Ice Cream and Game Social on June 24, at the Sheyenne Ninth Grade Center. What made this event extraordinary, besides the games, including donut-on-a-string races, gunnysack races, water balloon games and more, were all the delicious homemade pies made by members of Faith Lutheran Church and the make-your-own ice cream station. It was a sight to see people tossing gallon Ziploc bags of ice, resulting in great homemade ice cream. Many adults and children were playing games together, making ice cream together and enjoying the many flavors of pie, including rhubarb, apple, blueberry, cherry, pecan, strawberry and much more. Watch for other events that Journey in Faith will be hosting this summer including: a $1 Car Wash for the first 100 cars on July 25, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the northeast corner of the Osgood Hornbacher's parking lot; and Music in the Park July 28, at Rendezvous Park, in shelter N-3 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.
