Joyce Iverson, Fargo, passed away on July 10, 2011 at Bethany Retirement Living in Fargo at the age of 85.
Joyce Owen was born on Dec. 4, 1925, the daughter of Joseph and Helga (Oye) Owen in Kindred, N.D. She grew up in this area, received her education, graduating from Kindred High School in 1943. Joyce then attended Business College in Fargo. Joyce was united in marriage to Ole Iverson on Oct. 12, 1947 at Norman Lutheran Church near Kindred. They made their home on the family farm near Kindred where they farmed for many years. Following retirement, Joyce and Ole moved to West Fargo in 1995 and she entered Bethany in 2008. Throughout her life, Joyce was very active at her church. She loved sewing and was a longtime member of the local "Sewing Club." Ole and Joyce enjoyed many weekends at the lake and times traveling. She leaves behind many years worth of pictures all arranged in her photo albums.
Joyce is survived by her loving husband of 63 years, Ole; her daughters, Jennifer Thomas of Red Bank, N.J.; Jackie (Harlan) Jordheim of Kindred; and her son, Neil Iverson of Tipp City, Ohio; her grandchildren - Joseph Thomas, Lee (Reile) Jordheim, Nick (Lisa) Jordheim, Jennifer (Kris) Nelson, Heather (Ben) Wead, Rachel Iverson, and William Iverson; and her great-grandchildren - Jansen, Jenner and Jaeger Jordheim; and Savannah and Grace Wead.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and her son-in-law, Bill Shields.
A Memorial Service was held at 11 a.m., Friday, July 15, at Boulger Funeral Home in Fargo. A gathering was held one hour prior to the service.
Burial was in the Gol Cemetery near Kindred.
