Kiester to share story of inspiration, courage and hope
Faith Lutheran Church, West Fargo, is hosting special guest Kris Kuester at all services of worship this weekend: Saturday, Jan. 16, at 5 p.m., and Sunday, Jan. 17, at 8:30 and 11 a.m. Kuester has been an ordained pastor and gifted worship leader for more than ten years, and now serves others through his ministry, "Living With It."
During college, Kuester was an Academic All-NCC and All North Central Region baseball player at the University of North Dakota and in his 20s spent five years under the tutelage of Grammy Award-winning songwriter and Nashville producer Dennis Morgan.
In addition to touring as a successful country music artist, Kuester worked with recording artists Trisha Yearwood, Marty Stuart, Pam Tillis, and Sawyer Brown, just to name a few.
In 1996, Kuester was diagnosed with syringomyelia, an incurable, neurodegenerative disease of the spinal cord. After two brain surgeries, and over that next year, he taught himself how to walk again, how to play his guitar again, and with the Lord's help, he overcame a dark depression.
"You don't have to have a spinal cord disorder like me to be living with something of great consequence that is affecting your daily life in a very personal way," Kuester said. "Maybe you've lost a job recently or you're having financial difficulties? Maybe you're sick, or someone in your family is sick? Maybe you're struggling with an addiction? What is your 'it'? It could be anything. The good news is that God has given us the tools we need so that we can "Live With It."
The public is invited to attend this special worship event. For more information contact Faith Lutheran Church 282-3309. More information is available online at www.livingwithit.net.
