Kindergarten enrollment age changes

Email News Alerts

Recent North Dakota legislation has changed the age for enrollment into a kindergarten program.

The new code states: "A school district may not enroll in kindergarten a child who is not five years old before Aug. 1." This is a month different than the old code, which stated that a child must be five years old before Sept. 1.

The change will affect kindergarten students from the 2010-11 school year and beyond.
