Law enforcement agencies gearing up for increased seat belt mobilization
The Fargo Police Department is gearing up to conduct an increased seat belt enforcement campaign starting Friday, Jan. 11, through Saturday, Jan. 19, as part of the statewide Click-It or Ticket efforts.
According to the NDDOT 2011 statistics, 148 people died on North Dakota roads. "This could be your loved one in a future 2013 statistic, which should be an acceptable loss to your family or our community," said Sgt. Dorrheim. "Our hope is to heighten people's awareness of wearing a seatbelt each and every time they are traveling in a vehicle, it's such a simple step after getting into a car."
Officers will be looking for a wide range of violations along with individuals not wearing a seatbelt such as: Speeding, Red Light Violations, Stop Sign Violations, Texting/Distracted Driving, Lane and Right-Of-Way Violations.
