Travel warning issued after rollover on I-29 south of Fargo

Leland A. Hockert

Leland A. Hockert, 58, Stafford, Va., died on Sat. Nov. 14, 2009 in his home under hospice care.

Mr. Hockert was born on March 13, 1951 in Jamestown, N.D. to Arthur and Mary Ann (Rausch) Hockert. He grew up in West Fargo, and graduated from West Fargo High School. Leland later attended North Dakota State University of Fargo. Lee then served four years in the U.S. Air Force in Vietnam. He also worked for the Secret Service at the Pentagon. After his discharge, he began working as state contractor for car counters through out the U.S.

Leland was preceded in death by his father, Arthur.

He is survived by four children, Christopher (fiancé, Elizabeth Royal), Cassandra and Cody Lee Hockert all of Houston, Texas, Tara Hockert, Stafford, Va.; one grandchild, Inara; mother, Mary Ann Hockert, West Fargo; sister, Janice (Richard) Rowell, Fort Mohave, Ariz.

Visitation and prayer services were held on Monday, Nov. 23, 2009 in the West Funeral Home, West Fargo,

A Memorial Mass was held on Tuesday, Nov. 24, 2009 in Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, West Fargo. Burial was at St. Mary's Cemetery, Dazey, N.D.
