Letter to the Editor: Volunteers, donations requested for post prom - grad events
With spring right around the corner, Prom and Graduation is soon upon us. The Post Prom-Post Grad Committee is asking for volunteers of time, money and business donations. The Post Prom and Post Grad parties are not school funded, and not considered "school" activities, so rely strictly on parent volunteers.
The committee has been meeting monthly to plan these two very important activities, which provide a drug and alcohol free environment, not to mention all of the food, fun, and prizes.
Prom is Saturday May 7. The post prom party will be held at The Bowler from midnight to 3 a.m. You do not need to attend prom to go to the post prom party. The student may invite one guest (younger than 21). The cost per person is $10. Included in the party is: free bowling, free use of all of the games inside of The Bowler, free food, pop, bingo, karaoke (for which the DJ will be giving away a free x-box), prizes, and bigger money prizes at the end of the evening, for which you must be present to win.
Graduation is Sunday, June 5. The Post grad party is at the WFHS from 10:30 p.m. to 4 a.m. This is open to all seniors and one guest. The cost per person is $10 but may need to be increased to $15 per person if we do not get more money donations. All seniors receive a T-shirt after they register. Included is the party is: Games Galore, a dodge ball tournament, black jack, Texas Hold um, darts, Bingo, food, pop, photo booth, hypnotist, karaoke (with big prizes), and more prizes and cash prizes and big prizes at the end of the evening. Some of the prizes given away last year included a lap top computer, dorm fridge, IPOD, luggage and much more.
With graduation being later this year and also coinciding with state girls soccer and softball we are in need of a lot of help in setting up, getting the prizes, and helping with donations. Any and all help is greatly appreciated.
