Lewis claims Cass County moose

In what she calls a "once in a lifetime hunt," Carol Harbeke Lewis of West Fargo shot this bull moose on Saturday, Nov. 17, in Cass County.

"This was actually my first big game hunt," Lewis said. "My only other hunting experience is for turkeys."

According to Lewis, over 1,100 North Dakotans applied for a moose tag, and only 123 were awarded tags. Coupled with the fact there is a limited number of moose in the area, it is apparent that luck was on Lewis' side this hunting season.

"It was definitely a thrill to get the moose tag," Lewis said, "but it was an even bigger thrill to have a successful hunt!"
