Library News (April 30)

May Day Baskets: 7 p.m., Thursday. Learn to weave a small basket for some May Day fun.

West Fargo: Looking Back, Looking Forward : An exhibit that features an illustrated timeline of the history of West Fargo and includes a few peeks at what lies ahead. Visit the exhibit on the upper level of the library during regular hours.

Regular Events:

Genealogy: Noon to 4 p.m., Saturday. Explore your family’s history. Bring projects or just ask questions.

Tech Class- Intro to eBooks: 6:30 p.m., Monday. Find out about the library’s electronic books listed in the catalog and how to access those books in this class. Bring a library card. Class sizes are small. Registration is required.

Knitty Giddy: 6:30 p.m. on May 6. Knitting and crochet for adults. New and experienced crafters are welcome. Bring your own supplies.

Card Making for Mother’s Day: 3:45 p.m. on May 3. Open to all ages, card making will start after the 2 p.m. movie.

Friday Morning Movie – Tinker Bell and the Lost Treasure: 10:30 a.m., Friday.

Tinkerbell learns about the power of friendship and the value of responsibility. (80 minutes, G)

Saturday Flicks- Frozen: 2 p.m. Saturday. Sisters, new Queen Elsa and Princess Anna discover their relationship along with special powers in this new release. (102 minutes, PG)

Simply Stories: 10:15 a.m., May 6. This session is geared for lap babies and preschoolers. This program is just stories – no crafts. For stories and simple make-and-take crafts, visit the library at 1:30 p.m. on Tuesdays or 6:30 p.m. on Thursdays.

Story time: Story times are geared for preschool through first grade age children and their caretakers. Daycares are welcome, but for groups larger than five, please call ahead to (701) 433-5460.

Upcoming Events:

Cake Decorating Class: 6:30 p.m., May 8. Learn to make beautiful frosting flowers and leaves from a master cake decorator. A list of required supplies is available at the service desk. Registration is required.

One-on-One Tech Classes: May 12 and 19. Times available are 6:30 p.m., 7:05 p.m., 7:40 p.m.

Sign up for one 30-minute-individual lesson and choose a topic from the list of class titles. Up to two people may attend the same session, but only one topic will be covered. For a list of class topics or to register, call or stop at the library service desk.

Announcements: The Homework Center is closed on days when the schools are closed, including vacations and snow days. The last day of Homework Center will be May 22.
