Special events

“School is Cool”: 1:30 p.m. Thursday. Hear a story and discuss school adventures. Fun make-and-take project and special schoolhouse treat.

New release movie:

2 p.m. Aug. 23. “The Hobbit – An Unexpected Journey” (PG-13, 182 minutes).

Regular events

“West Fargo: Looking Back, Looking Forward”: An exhibit features an illustrated timeline of the history of West Fargo and includes a few peeks at what lies ahead. (Exhibit is on the upper level of the library.)

Genealogy: Historical Center is closed Saturday, but will reopen from noon to 4 p.m. Aug. 30.

Knitty Giddy: 6:30 p.m. Tuesday. New and experienced crafters are welcome. Bring supplies.

Ham radio: 6:45 p.m. Wednesday. Sessions are open to adults and accompanied children interested in learning more about ham radio.

Friday morning movie: 10:30 a.m. Friday. “Babar School Days” (NR, 90 minutes).

Simply Stories: 10:15 a.m. Tuesday and 12:30 p.m. Thursday. This session is geared for lap babies and preschoolers and is just stories – no crafts. For stories and simple make-and-take crafts, visit the library at 1:30 p.m. Tuesdays. Registration is not required.

Story time – Fun on the Farm: 1:30 p.m. Tuesday. Story times are geared for preschool through first- grade-age children and their caretakers. Day cares are welcome, but for groups larger than five, please call ahead to (701) 433-5460. Registration is not required.

Upcoming events

Puppy Hop: 11 a.m. Aug. 27. Make personal puppy ears and dance to music on bubble wrap. Light refreshments included.


The library will be closed Sept. 1 and will be open Sundays starting Sept. 7.
